We are seeking a Sociology Researcher with curiosity, critical thinking, and integrity to help shape our understanding of people, systems, and behavior as we grow our startup.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can design and conduct meaningful research, analyze data, and translate social insights into actionable strategies for product development, community engagement, and ethical growth.

If you thrive in a fast-moving startup environment, value honesty and evidence-based decision-making, and want to help build a company rooted in trust and integrity — this role is for you.

Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct qualitative and quantitative research to understand user behavior, community needs, and social impact.
  • Develop frameworks for ethical decision-making and social responsibility within the company.
  • Analyze cultural, political, and economic factors that influence user engagement and product adoption.
  • Create and manage surveys, interviews, focus groups, and data reports.
  • Collaborate with design, technology, and leadership teams to align product strategy with social insight and civic values.
  • Track and report social and behavioral metrics that demonstrate our product’s broader impact.
  • Uphold a strong commitment to transparency, accuracy, and ethical research standards.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Sociology, Political Science, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Experience with social research methods — surveys, interviews, statistical analysis, or data interpretation.
  • Strong understanding of social systems, ethics, and human behavior.
  • Ability to translate academic or analytical findings into actionable business insights.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • High integrity, empathy, and accountability in all professional work.

Compensation

  • 2.5% Ownership (Equity) in the company, aligned with long-term contribution and impact. Excluded from dilution for 2 investment rounds.
  • Flexible consultant or contractor arrangement, with potential to evolve into a full-time or leadership position as the company scales.

Director of Finance & SEC Reporting (Consultant / Contractor / Early-Stage Hire)

We are seeking a finance leader with strategic vision, technical expertise, and integrity to help build our financial foundation as we scale our startup and prepare for potential IPO.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can manage full financial operations, SEC reporting, and IPO readiness — while establishing strong governance and scalable processes from day one.

If you thrive in a fast-moving startup environment, value honesty, transparency, and accuracy, and want to help build a company rooted in integrity — this role is for you.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial planning, analysis, and reporting to ensure accurate, timely, and actionable information for leadership.
  • Prepare and manage SEC filings, including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, S-1, and other regulatory disclosures.
  • Build and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and scalable processes suitable for a pre-IPO or public company environment.
  • Support fundraising, investor relations, and capital planning with transparent and data-driven insights.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, legal counsel, and investment banks to ensure audit readiness and IPO preparation.
  • Partner with leadership to align financial strategy with long-term company goals, operational priorities, and ethical business practices.
  • Track key financial metrics, identify risks, and provide recommendations for sustainable growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or SEC reporting — including startup and/or public company experience.
  • Deep understanding of SEC filings, GAAP, SOX compliance, and IPO readiness.
  • Proven ability to implement financial systems, dashboards, and reporting processes from early-stage operations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a high level of integrity and accountability.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex financial concepts into actionable insights.

Compensation

  • 1% Ownership (Equity) in the company, aligned with long-term contribution and impact. Excluded from dilution for 2 investment rounds.
  • Flexible consultant or contractor arrangement, with potential to evolve into a full-time or leadership position as the company scales.
